I grew up in one of the beautiful and historical cities in the world, Shiraz, and finished my undergraduate education in agricultural engineering from Shiraz University. During my studies, I was eager to use my computer skill and knowledge in my field which was based on crop production, plant breeding, genetics, and biotechnology. Therefore, after graduation I started my research in bioinformatics research group at Shiraz University under supervision of Dr. E. Ebrahimi, and learned primary concepts of bioinformatics. After two conference publications, I started my research collaboration with Green Research Center (GRC) under supervision of Dr. M. Ebrahim which is one of a pioneer bioinformatics research group in my home country. I published my first journal paper after six months hard working in GRC and Shiraz University.

After my immigration to Canada, as my first job I worked in web development and design, and established my own company in this field. When I felt my life in the new country is a little bit stable, I continued my studies at the University of Calgary from the computer science department to increase my knowledge in algorithm and computer programming. I learned one of the useful programming languages in computational biology, Python from Dr. N. Wong. Then, I continued my studies in the department of health science with Dr. M. Bieda in bioinformatics and developed the statistic part of my understandings in this field.

Now, I set up a new challenge in my scientific life in beautiful Ottawa to use my background in new fields, toxicology and health science with Dr. L. Chan and Dr. S. Aris-Brosou who are professionals in my new research at the University of Ottawa.
